“I better go back and thank him then, let him know he’s an absolute life saver.” Sophia joked, one hand pushing her long chestnut locks away from her face as she smiled. Once again, she subconsciously watched every move he made, from the way he tossed the carton of cigarettes on the floor to the way he showed practically all of his pearly teeth when he beamed at her. She tilted her end back to look at him from her seated position, never noticing just how tall he really was until now. “Sounds good. Thanks again for letting me stay.” The girl nodded, thankful to have a place to sleep and glad she wouldn’t feel as alone. Despite his kindness, she was on the confused side as he left her alone on his couch. Her brows knit together, siting idly for another few moments before heading up the stairs with her bag and phone in hand as she navigated the hall and led herself into the one open room she figured would be hers for the night. Sophia set her purse on the floor at the foot of the bed before laying back with a sigh, replaying the last hours in her head.

Once he was in his room– not even bothering to lock the door– he lay there, one arm supporting his head whilst the other tapped against his nightstand. He had let someone he met just today stay in his domicile, and it wasn’t someone he had been planning to bed. Jasper looked up at his pallid white ceiling, the color a complete contrast from his pitch black soul. An uncanny heat rose in the pit of his stomach. Perhaps it was culpability or anxiety, but he chose not to dwell on it. Jasper wasn’t one to reside on his qualms and perils. On the contrary, he seemed to avoid them until finally they came to bite him in the ass. The junkie finally decided to take his shirt off, as well as his jeans, leaving only his boxers on, and climbed into bed. Once he turned the lights off, he clutched the box of cigarettes sitting just beside him and lit one with his yen lighter. With the lights out, he felt much more comfortable.
