The brunette nodded slowly, breathing slowly back down when he ceased all movement of his hand. It wasn’t that she didn’t like having him so close, she was just a nervous wreck since meeting him. In a perfect world she wouldn’t have reacted at all, but she was too timid to say anything or move away. Sophia looked back up at Jasper, a wave of melancholy washing over her. It wasn’t your typical story about loving parents or even parents who never paid attention, instead it was a sad tale of a kid who didn’t get what he deserved. Instantly she wanted to say that she was sorry but that didn’t go down with him very well earlier. She nodded again, slowly. “Wow.” Sophia mumbled softly, she truly did feel bad for him but she knew she couldn’t actually tell him that. “She really does love you though.”
He could feel the pity overtaking her, and he instantly repented his actions. Did he really need to bring his mother up so soon? Jasper’s hands clenched into fists, a wave of guilt surging through him like an abrupt flood. He decided not to speak anymore, aware of her eyes on him. He attempted to ignore her gaze, simply because he would yell at her if he even took one look at her. Once he tried to at least nod her way, his fingers began fiddling with the ends of his blanket. Should he have said something? “I’ve kept it in for so long…” He murmured, not daring to look up at her. He’d never mentioned this to anyone, not even his ex-girlfriends. They were too interested in the currency he kept in his pocket. “But hey— that’s the best thing someone could do, right? No one gives a shit.”
