Sophia carefully, brought her thumb up to his cheek, swiping underneath his eye to catch one of the falling tears. Even though she hardly knew him, it still broke her heart to see him like this. In that moment he was so vulnerable and raw, a broken boy. “It’s hard, you’re not meant to understand it.” She spoke softly, wanting to wrap her arms around the raven haired boy and let him know that everything was going to be okay in the end but she knew all to well that it wasn’t in her best interest to make that move. “Then they weren’t really friends.” Sophia shook her head, brown eyes looking up at his distraught face only to flicker back down to his hands.
At that small, hidden gesture, he couldn’t help but close her eyes at her sudden touch. It felt good, to have someone comforting him, but then again all he wanted to be was alone. Contradicting himself had always been an essential part of who he was, but it pained him to know that he never really could make decisions for himself. Jasper laid there, his hands in hers, seeking comfort in this girl that he had just met about two hours ago. Opening up to someone was rare to him, and since he wasn’t in contact with anyone but Lupe and his customers, he found it nice to have her here with him. To reach for a hug might have been a little too much, so he restrained himself. The tears kept escaping from distraught eyes, and he could not control them. For once, he could not control himself. “I– you don’t have to listen to this bullshit.”
