Despite their lovely little conversation, Victoria was still in shock. Just the fact that he was here had her mind racing. She had so many questions that she wanted to ask him, some of which she already knew the answers to. It had only been three years, but so much could’ve changed in three years. Jasper could be a whole new person and Victoria wouldn’t even knew. “Well, yeah, was I supposed to assume that my ex-husband married my sister-in-law? That’s kind of a crazy thing, you know?” She said, letting out a laugh. “Yeah, Gina’s one of a kind, isn’t she?” They both knew that Gina was more than extremely plain. Even her family members ad told Victoria that Gina was the stiff of the family.
“Alright, well, the real Victoria answer is that I’m pretty shitty. I have to wear these stupid clothes and talk to pretentious people and keep my mouth shut when one of these idiot rich people says something ignorant. My husband is a sweetheart, but god damn he’s nothing compared to-” Victoria stopped herself before going on. She never failed to say too much and the last thing she needed was for Jasper to know that she’d never b satisfied with anyone else but him. Clearing her throat and smiling, she began to speak again. “I’m going to go ahead and guess five hundred bucks.”
Although his marriage with Victoria didn’t last too long, he had still fallen in love with her as quick as anyone else would. It might have been her beauty, or the mere fact that she was different from everyone else, but he still loved her to the point where he knew that he couldn’t let her go anymore. Emerald hues of pure love looked upon her, today out of all days, and realized how much he had longed for her. It didn’t help that he had thought of her every single time he laid his head on Gina’s feather pillows. “You didn’t tell him that we were married before, right? I mean—…” Jasper bit his lower lip and looked around. Thankfully, no one had been staring back at them. “You can’t tell anyone. Do you got that?” It wasn’t a question, but more of a demand.
He fell silent, listening to her talk about how much she loathed the clothes she had to wear for these certain events. Jasper looked down at his pure white suit and smile softly. However, her words astounded him. Though she didn’t finish her sentence, he knew what she had been wanting to say. “What?” He finally had the courage to speak aloud, brows furrowing. “Did you just say you…” He lowered his voice in fear. “…that you missed me?” Because I miss you, too.
