Marie had gone back to eating her wrap by the time the other had spoken. Her sapphires stayed on the plate, not even flicking up for a second to look at the boy until after she finished her bite.
”Never fun…”
She hummed softly, finally looking up at the male across the diner and offering him a gentle smile. Marie was never one to just start up a conversation with anything, she tended to keep to herself.
Large and calloused hands clutch at his mug to sip at the lukewarm coffee sitting before him, the only companion he was like to know this morning. Jasper eyed her a moment, confusion spreading across his face instantaneously. Never fun? Was she a female form of the post-clean junkie in law school?
“Yeah. Life is uh– boring like, almost all the time.”
He mumbled, biting his lower lip and looking down at the strong black liquid that was his caffeine and morning pick me up. She turned out to be a real good temporary companion.
