She wasn’t always the best at putting her thoughts together but her last sentence came out exceptionally well. Before remembering to write that one down, she squinted her eyes slightly as if she were trying to get a better look at him. “Something isn’t right.”

He cleared his throat and allowed himself a shrug, slipping his hand inside of his pockets. “Woah, where did all of this come from? Everything is fine, alright?” He allowed himself to chuckle, if only for a minute. After that, Jasper ran a hand through his hair, staring at her through the darkness of weary lids. “Heartbreak is for kids.”
