Sophia had set up the dinner by herself, getting everything settled and put together before she decided to propose the idea to Jasper. It was a bit of a risky move, but she really loved him and figured if he couldn’t man up and meet her parents then she couldn’t continue the relationship. Sure, it sounded a little harsh but she could only defy her parents so much. It already bothered her the slightest that she took so long to even mention that she was in a relationship and it was with someone her parents didn’t know. Normally, she’d be set up with a family friend thanks to her parents. That never worked out for anyone. She was happier than ever with her current boyfriend and was proud to show him off to her parents and everyone else she knew. Despite being so excited, she was a little bit on edge. She feared that her parents wouldn’t approve of the male and request that she no longer see him. If that were to happen, she’d be put in a tough position. Sophia always obeyed her parents but she was completely infatuated with Jasper. All she hoped was that it didn’t have to come down to picking her family over Jasper or vice versa.
Now that it was actually time for the two to leave, Sophia really started to worry. The brunette tried her best to keep a calm exterior and make the experience as easy and pain free for everyone at the dinner. A smile came to her face when she walked around the corner to see her boyfriend dressed to the nines. “It’ll be fine, I’ll just tell them we hit traffic.” Sophia shrugged, walking to the other side of the room to grab the pair of Michael Kors heels he’d purchased for her not long before. “All ready?” She asked, taking in a deep breath as she looked up at the dark haired male.
He never really expected Sophia to have set up this dinner by herself, which set him into a state of oblivious confusion. The junkie was more than worried about the dinner though he had been strongly anticipating the reactions of her parents. Despite the hundreds of girls he was sure he’d slept with, he never really felt a connection with them. Sophia, however, had been a complete different story. He hadn’t took her yet, which only accumulated his desire for her. He remembered the first night they lay together in his bed— the air thick with nicotine and dim lighting— when Sophia told him that she’d lived in a rich community. That only gave him cause to dress this way, letting her parents know that he, too, had money. To describe how he did was another story that he’d never begin. That would only give Sophia’s parents a free ticket to let him go. He would never be so foolish as to admit that, though. It would only omit him from his girlfriend’s life, which was the last thing he wanted to do. It would pain him to see her in a tough spot, so he made it his job to impress her as well as them. Suits and expensive watches were easy to come by in New York City, and since her begetter and mother weren’t snowboarding somewhere far, he found it difficult to make up an excuse for as to why they were fashionably late.
"Do you think that the traffic excuse would work?“ He asked, cocking an eyebrow in wholesome interest. "Or are they the type to believe most anything?” Questioning her only made him think about his parents and how credulous they were, naive and gullible to everything Jasper said– except his father. He saw right through the lies and deceit, being that they were the exact same person. Once he turned his head to see that she had slipped on the heels he bought for her, he smiled to himself. “Ready.” He said, extending his hand out for her to take. Maybe it was because he hadn’t had a cigarette in the entire morning, but he had been feeling quite nervous. “Let’s go.”
